Award Descriptions

Advisor of the Year – 4 year institution
Nominee must be from a 4 year state or regional institution.  
Must have served as an Advisor for a minimum of 2 years.

Advisor of the Year – 2 year institution
Nominee must be from a 2 year institution or college.
Must have served as an Advisor for a minimum of 2 years.

Advisor of the Year – Private/Technology institution
Nominee must be from a private institution or technical school.
Must have served as an Advisor for a minimum of 2 years.

Faculty Advisor, Advising Administrator, or Advising Supporter of the Year
Nominee must be one of the following three positions:

  1. Full time Faculty with Advising responsibilities
  2. Advising Administrator, Assistant Director, or Director
  3. Other Advising processes supporter, ie. Provost, Associate/Assistant Provost/Dean, other institution leader who promotes Advising on their campus(es).

True Excellence Award

This is an individual who goes above and beyond in their responsibilities.  This individual should have held a leadership position in OACADA or an affiliated association, impacted advising in Oklahoma, and has represented our state within the advising profession.

Nomination submission requirements (requires google login)

  1. Nomination Letter – please include nominee’s name in the file name
  2. Up to 2 supporting letters – please include nominee’s name in the file name
  3. Picture of the nominee

All nominations will be subject to a blind review to determine the winners.

All nominations will be acknowledged on the OACADA website.
